Prof. Yu Duan

Principle Investigator

Duan Yu, born in 1978, is a professor at the State Key Laboratory of Integrated Optoelectronics, School of Electronic Science and Engineering, Jilin University. He joined the National League for Democracy in June 2013. From 1997 to 2001, he studied at Northwestern Polytechnical University with a bachelor's degree. In 2006, he received a doctorate in science from Jilin University. The graduation thesis was awarded an excellent doctoral thesis in Jilin Province. From 2007 to 2010, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the National Nano Laboratory in Italy. He qualified as a professor at Jilin University in September 2014. He is now mainly engaging in organic optoelectronic device physics, device structure design and fabrication researches. He successfully developed the world's lowest driving voltage white OLED device. By effectively eliminating the carrier injection barrier, the device can achieve 1000cd/m2 brightness at 2.9V driving voltage. at 3.0V driving voltage The brightness can reach 2000cd/m2, which is one of the white light OLED devices with the lowest driving voltage reported in the world. Towards the degradation of OLEDs, thin film encapsulation process was developed employing atomic layer deposition. The film encapsulation layer has a water vapor transmission rate of 8.7 x 10-6 g/m2day which was the lowest water vapor barrier performance reported at the time nationwide. He cooperated with the team of Prof. Giuseppe Peili from the national nano laboratory of Italy, to carry out research on the key issues of practical application of organic optoelectronic devices, and made breakthroughs in structural design of flexible devices and materials purification processes, forming a number of independent knowledge properties.   • Assoc. Prof. Fuquan Bai

    Focus on Theoretical Simulation

    FuQuan Bai received his Ph.D. degree from Jilin University in June 2009. 2012-2013, he did his first postdoc research at Kyoto University of Japan and finished his second postdoc career in Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2016-2017. From 2014, he is working as associate professor at Jilin University. His research interests include the excited state of transition metal complexes and their electronic structures and spectroscopic properties for OLED, the excited state of dinuclear or polynuclear complexes, theoretical studies on the charge transfer process for Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells (DSSC) and the growth, application control, surface reaction mechanism, reaction rate, etc. in two-dimensional material.

  • Assoc. Prof. Haitao Wang

    Focus on Chemical Materials

    Haitao Wang, born in 1981, received his Ph.D. degree in Materials physics and chemistry at Jilin University in 2008 with thesis title: Synthesis and Mesophase Structure of Several Types of Non-conventional Liquid Crystals. 2007-2008, he worked as visiting student at LCMRC, University of Colorado at Boulder. He finished his postdoc career at Jilin University while taking visiting scholar at Georgia Institute of Technology, United States. He works as Associate Professor at Jilin University since 2011. His research interests include molecular self-assembly of liquid crystals, organogels and organic nano-structures, Organic light-emitting materials and Computational quantum chemistry.

  • Prof. Ping Chen

    Focus on White OLEDs

    Ping Chen is Professor of College of Electronic Science and Engineering, Jilin University at Jilin University. He received B.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Jilin University, respectively. He conducted postdoctoral research at Bowling Green States University of USA. He joined Jilin University as an assistant professor in 2008 and was promoted to professor in 2016. His research interests include organic light-emitting diodes, organic solar cells. Chen has published more than 60 papers.
